Reasons Ninja Foodi Is Not Getting Hot
1. Damaged Thermal Fuse
If the Ninja Foodi slow cooker function is not working, this likely has to do with the thermal fuse.
It’s rare but it can happen.
The thermal fuse can blow out due to excessive use, external damage, and/or short-circuiting. This is why it’s recommended to take care of the Ninja Foodi when it is not in use.
If the thermal fuse is gone, you will want to go through all of the other potential issues before replacing it.
2. Not Plugged In Properly
If the Ninja Foodi is not warming up, you might not have plugged it in properly.
Sometimes, there is enough electricity coming through to start the Ninja Foodi but not enough to warm it. This can also happen if you are sharing the circuit with too many other small appliances at the same time.
This is why it’s best to have a separate outlet for the Ninja Foodi for optimal performance.
To fix this, you will want to take out the plug and let the Ninja Foodi cool down for 10 minutes or so. After this, you can plug in the appliance again.
Test to see if this corrects the issue.
How To Replace Ninja Foodi Thermal Fuse
1. Unscrew The Bottom Cover
To repair a Ninja Foodi thermal fuse, you are going to have to access it near the bottom of the appliance.
There is a lid running along the bottom that you will have to unscrew.
Do this diligently and make sure to set aside the screws where you can remember them. You will need these screws for later on.
2. Detach The Thermal Fuse
You will now want to find the thermal fuse running along the inside of the Ninja Foodi.
This is going to be noticeable as it will be hooked into place using screws. There is likely a holder that is keeping it where it is supposed to be.
Look for those screws and unscrew them.
3. Pinch End of The Wire & Attach New Thermal Fuse
You will now want to cut off the old thermal fuse and only keep the wire. This wire is going to be hooked directly into the Ninja Foodi.
Don’t cut that part of the wire. Just the end with the thermal fuse.
You will notice how it looks by comparing it to the new thermal fuse in your hands. Remember, this new thermal fuse is going to go where the old one is.
To do this, you are going to first pinch the end of the wire and twist it in your hand. This will allow you to hook the new thermal fuse into place.
4. Reattach The Thermal Fuse Using Screws
Once the thermal fuse is connected to the wire, you are going to reattach it to the Ninja Foodi. This will be done with the same screws you took off beforehand.
Do this properly and make sure the wire is not moving around once it is in place.
You can also reattach the lid at this point and screw everything back into place. Once done, test the Ninja Foodi to make sure it is working again.
These are the steps to follow if your Ninja Foodi slow cooker is not getting hot.
If a Ninja Foodi slow cooker is not getting hot, it will often have to do with the thermal fuse getting damaged. In some cases, it might also involve the plug when enough electricity does not get through to the unit. To fix this, unplug the appliance and let it sit for 10 minutes before plugging it back in.
It is highly recommended to properly care for your Ninja Foodi to avoid these types of issues.
